Tomato Basil Egg Waffles

Fastest most delicious eggs!

Remember: When introducing solid foods to babies, consider their stage and abilities. Start allergens such as eggs around 6 months in thin strips for easier grasping. Around 9 months, transition to diced pieces for improved chewing skills. Supervise babies and consult healthcare professionals for personalized advice.

This has been our go to breakfast during busy weekdays and everyone including my 15 month, 3 and 4.5 year old loves them!

I love how versatile they are and easy to change up. Add veggies for a vegetable exposure such as diced peppers, shredded spinach or kale, or diced zucchini. I love to add a little color to them but sometimes I just keep it simple with eggs only.

It’s super easy & here’s how:

Ingredients:

4 eggs

1 tablespoon of diced veggies (tomatoes, peppers, or zucchini)

Basil or any preferred seasonings

Splash of milk or water

Mix together 4 eggs (if you have a mini waffle maker use less) finely diced tomatoes, generous sprinkle of basil, and any spices you want. Add a splash of milk or water. Pour on a sprayed waffle maker and leave on til done depending on the size of your waffle maker.

For us it’s around 90seconds-2 minutes. Eggs in the waffle maker make it super easy to grasp and pick up. Cut in skinny strips (6-8months) or small pincer pieces around 9months.

I wait to add salt til after baby’s portion is done if under 12 months.

Optional: Add cheese (feta is great in this) for adults or toddlers. Would avoid making it too cheesy for baby due to choking risk.

Egg strips

Why do I love these?

Eggs are such a powerhouse food for babies. They have protein, vitamins, and minerals that support growth. Choline in eggs helps with brain development and iron in eggs is important for blood and overall growth. We love this waffle maker and use it frequently! I also have been eyeing this mini one and think it would be so fun to have for the girls.
